Albuquerque, New Mexico is home to one of only two Beep Ball manufacturing centers in the country,
the other center is in Denver, CO. Several time a week Pioneers gather to work on the assembly of the 16" softball that beeps so that blind or visually impaired athletes can play ball. These Pioneers also build the circut boards used and assemble the entire beeping mechanism. The new balls must be unstiched, cored to make room for the beeping assembly, then beeping mechanism inserted, and finally, the ball resewn. Balls are shipped all over the world. The National Beep Baseball Association (NBBA) hold a World Series of Beep Ball each year.
Building the mechanism that makes it beep.
Sealing the beeping mechanism in fiberglass resin.
Stitching the ball together after the mechanism is pressed in is the final step.
